When a woman wants to get pregnant, she should not have to worry about her fertility or other things; it should be a happy time. A fertility monitor is great to have during this time. A good designed one, like the Clearblue Fertility Monitor, takes some of the potential stress out.
So what's the big deal about the Clearblue Fertility Monitor? Well, for one, it has an advanced monitoring system that is easy to use. A test stick (you can purchase more separately) is used to monitor hormone levels in your urine. One of the sticks is wetted and placed into the monitor test slot, then wait for the test to complete.
But an important feature of the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor is that you can easily program it to follow the days of your monthly cycle. The effect of this is to maximize your chances of conceiving. A "Fertility Status" image is shown on the Clearblue monitor screen, with low, high, and peak fertility displayed.
The Clearblue's "M" button A button on the monitor called the 'M' button should be pressed when you start your cycle - at the time you can do tests. It establishes the start of 6-hour windows of time for each test. Since the first urine of each day must be tested, the "m" button should be pressed during the morning hours. But you're free to alter the day or time that you decide to press the button on your next cycle, if you need to get more tests done at varying times in your montly cycle.
Identifying fertile days in your cycle is the job of fertility monitors. The Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor accurately signals more of these days than any other monitor on the market today. Your chances of conceiving are higher when your E3G estrogen levels are higher, and this time is normally 10 to 12 days after your cycle starts. These pre-ovulation days are the best time for you to get pregnant, because sperm can survive up to five days.
The Clearblue Easy Monitor Is Effective Because... A follicle containing an egg starts forming in an ovary during a time in these "pre-ovulation days" called "the Follicular Phase." At this point a rise in Luteinizing hormone signals peak fertility. This lasts for only a couple days and is the time frame that your chances of conceiving are the highest. Ovulation occurs about this time when the egg is released by the bursting follicle.
The Clearblue Fertility Monitor is really good at pinpointing this time. From this point forward only around 24 hours can your egg be fertitlized, and it's this time that the Clear Blue is good at helping you pinpoint. The Luteal Phase is the 14 days after ovulation, and a time period when you are far less likely to conceive. (The remains of the follicle form what's called the "corpus luteum.")
How To Perform A Routine Test While in your testing 'window' and before your first urine of the day, turn on the Clearblue Fertility Monitor. Certain mornings the monitor will 'tell' you you need to do a hormone level test. To perform the test you remove a test stick from its wrapper and place it - pointing down - into your urine stream for around 3 seconds...
Now after removing the cap from the handle of the stick, you place it over the end you just wetted. You should now see a flashing red light coming from the monitor's test stick slot. This indicates it is performing some internal checks in order to ensure the slot is indeed ready to receive your test stick.
Make sure you don't put the stick into the slot until the light goes out. Holding the stick by the cap, put the other end into the slot - cut corner down - and press it down until it clicks. A correct placement of the stick into the monitor will be indicated by a flashing test stick symbol for the time it is doing the test - which is around five minutes.
So now all you do is wait five minutes until the test is over - indicated by the monitor - which point it will indicate for you to remove and discard the used test stick. Your fertility status will display on the monitor as "low, high, or peak" by bars.
